Weight Loss Truths - Un-Sugar Coated

Millions of people are currently on a weight loss mission. Sadly, only a small fraction will lose weight, and half of those that do succeed will put it right back on in a matter of months.

The weight loss product industry makes billions of dollars yearly at the whim of desperate consumers looking for that quick fix, that magic pill, or the revolutionary machine that will make them lose weight.

Weight loss does not come in a bottle or a machine. It never has, and it never will. True weight loss takes proper nutrition, exercise, and rest. There are no short cuts, quick fixes, overnight miracles, or FDA approved drugs that will force the fat off your body, much less keep it off.

While you read this revealing article keep a few key points in mind. These are the truths that you may not want to hear, but need to. Here are the weight loss truths, un-sugar coated.

Weight Loss Truth #1 - You will not lose 5-10 pounds of body fat in a week

If you want to lose fat and keep it off, then it's going to take some time. I won't guarantee 5-10 pound weight loss in a week or two, but I will say you can realistically lose 1-2 pounds of body fat a week, and gain lean muscle at the same rate. You didn't put the weight on overnight, and therefore it's not going to magically disappear overnight.

True weight loss is fat loss…not muscle loss, not water or bone loss, but fat loss. Losing 5-10 pounds or more a week is a loss of bone, muscle, and water, which results in a destroyed metabolism.

Scale weight is obsolete, as the scale is only a measuring device, unable to distinguish between muscle, fat, bone, and water weight.

Weight Loss Truth #2 - There is no quick fix to fat loss, and fad diets are worthless

Lose 40 pounds in a week! Lose weight while you sleep! Rapid weight loss! Lose weight without diet or exercise! These are consumer hot buttons, causing you to buy products with your emotions. They are misleading and just plain lies, lies, and lies. Fad diets and “quick fix” products will drain your wallet and leave you feeling worse than when you started. The only weight you will lose on a fad diet or a quick fix is water, muscle, and bone. These are not desired results, as they lead to metabolic downgrade and increased fat storage.

Lotions, potions, and gadgets for fat loss should be tossed out the window. They are worthless. Taking fat off requires nutrients and exercise. It's that simple, yet rarely told to you because the weight loss product industry's job it to make an insane amount of money.

Weight Loss Truth #3 - You have to stop eating processed foods labeled "healthy," "low-fat," or "low-carb".

Food labels are misleading and can cause you to gain more fat in the long run. They are completely processed.

Prepackaged meals and “diet foods” contain chemicals that your body can't metabolize and therefore, it slows down your metabolism. Chemicals that don't leave your body become toxins and get lodged in your fat cells, making fat loss even more difficult.

Weight Loss Truth #4 - You will have to put forth the effort if you want to lose fat

The body is made to be nourished and to be physical. If you want to lose fat you have to eat right and get moving. It may not be glamorous or fun, but it's a must if you want to shed the fat.

There are a number of things you can do for exercise, such as walking, in-line skating, weight training, biking, hiking, swimming, etc. Whatever your choice is, just do it.

Weight Loss Truth #5 - You will not be a supermodel or swimsuit model

Well, I'm not saying this can't or won't happen, but my point is that many weight loss ads suggest that after you take their product you will look like the supermodel marketing the product.

Remember, models are models. They are spokespersons for the company. They are just doing their job. Just because a supermodel is holding a bottle of the latest cortisol blocker does not mean you will look like her by taking that product.

Weight Loss Truth #6 - Muscle does not weigh more than fat

There is a misconception linked with weight training, that muscle weighs more than fat. I've heard Dr. Phil say this (yes, the wonderful “dieting expert”), as well as Bob Greene, Oprah's personal trainer. These people are looked upon as icons, yet they are giving out false information.

Muscle does not weigh more than fat. Go do the experiment yourself right now. Grab two pounds of chicken fat and weigh it, and then weigh two pounds of chicken meat (muscle). Which weighs more? Neither. Two pounds of fat weighs the same as two pounds of muscle, two pounds.

Muscle is more dense than fat and it takes up less space. Therefore, it would be ideal to add muscle to your frame because it’s more dense, creates curves, and it increases your metabolism.

Weight Loss Truth #7 - You can't spot reduce

Doing a thousand leg lifts won't reduce your thighs any faster than doing a thousand crunches to tone your abs. Simply, and sadly put, you cannot spot reduce. Doing crunches upon crunches will only build the underlying abdominal muscle beneath your layer of tummy fat.

To trim down flabby areas you need to eat several small balanced meals that are unprocessed, and you need to exercise. When your body fat begins to reduce, your trouble spots will begin to shape up.

Weight Loss Truth #8 - Weight loss is a lifestyle

Losing weight properly, which is reducing body fat and building lean muscle tissue, should not be a one-shot approach; it should be a lifetime commitment. If you ever go back to your old destructive habits you will become out of shape again, and will have to work twice as hard to get back in shape.

Adopt a healthy eating and exercise lifestyle, and maintain it for the rest of your life. Doing so will keep you fit, energetic, slow down the aging process, keep you looking young, and it will prevent early degenerative diseases.

Being healthy and in shape is not genetic, it's by choice. Make the right choice today.

Weight Loss Truths Conclusion

Now that you have the weight loss truths, begin to work on them to improve your health and to get in shape. Your health and your body are yours, and you have to work daily to keep them functioning correctly and to give you the look you want. Once you get in the shape you want to be in, all you have to do from there is simple maintenance, which becomes something you do daily, such as brushing your teeth or shaving your legs.

Do your body right and it won't steer you wrong.

How to Burn Off More Fat Using a Stationary Exercise Bike

The stationary exercise bike is a very popular piece of fitness equipment because it can be very effective for burning off calories without subjecting your body to excessive impact, especially on your knee joints. That is one reason why using a stationary exercise bike may be more useful for some people than a treadmill, even if you generally burn off less fat from cycling. However, it is possible that you may run into the problem of not burning off as many calories as you should in doing your stationary cycle exercise. Let me give you a couple of simple tips that may help you to improve the fat-burning effectiveness of your stationary bike exercise.

First of all, before beginning your exercise, you should make sure that your bike seat is adjusted to the correct height. This may seem to be a minor thing, but in fact, the height adjustment of your seat can have a considerable effect on your workout. If the seat is too low, then your exercise will cause your legs to become much more fatigued than they should, making it more difficult to exercise effectively. Another problem of having a low seat is that it adds to the stress that your knees will receive during the workout. However, a seat that is too high is not good, either. A high seat can force your hips to constantly sway from side to side, making for a less comfortable and less efficient workout.

Here is how you adjust your seat to the right position. Get on the seat and set one of your heels against the center of the bike pedal, where you would normally press with the ball of your foot. Adjust your seat until your leg is fully stretched and straight against the pedal, which should be at the lowest position in its rotation. Then, when you put your feet on their natural positions on the pedals, you will have exactly the right amount of bend for an effective workout.

Another thing you can do to improve a stationary exercise bike workout is to vary the intensity of the workout. Try doing two or three minutes of high-speed cycling followed by three minutes of more relaxed pedaling. Continue doing that for at least fifteen minutes. It also helps if every now and then you stand up while doing your exercise. When you stand, your muscles will need to do more work to pedal the bike and to support your body, and more work done means more fat burned.

3 Reasons That Make Weight Lost Over 40 Different For Women Vs Men

The weight loss over 40 is different for women than men. You can check all the medical studies and clinical testing ever done. You will never find 3 reasons that separate women and men in weight loss over 40. Take this for what it is worth. After many years of research and observation by me here are the 3 reasons why women are different from men in weight loss over 40.

  1. Most men do not care about weight loss or even looking good. Just look around. It is an ongoing survey everyday. Women try every new fad diet in the world, newest makeup, and have elective surgery at a higher rate than men. These are not bad things. It just shows women take better care of themselves than men.
  2. Exercise for most men is changing the channel with a remote control or going to the fridge to get another beer for them because no one else is around. Now women are joining health clubs, taking yoga, doing Tae Bo, pilates, dance classes, cardio workouts, and using every piece of exercise equipment known to mankind. Most men only go the the health clubs to meet in shape... health... beautiful women.
  3. The last reason why weight loss over 40 is not important to men is in the numbers. Because of the first 2 reasons, women out number men about 4 to 1. So there is more competition with women for the men that are still living. How many out of shape, bald, let us be nice... lacking in grooming in clothes and appearance men do you see still around. Women are looking great and in shape. It is just too bad that their choices out there are on the low side.
The final data is not in and the numbers could change over the next 20 years. If some smart men out there start getting it together, they will find heaven on earth. Men, if you make the effort women do to stay fit and healthy, your golden years might be your best. To the women, you do one hell of job putting the men to shame. You out live them, become wealthier, and look great with weight loss over 40.

Weight Loss Over 40 - Why Do We Kill Ourselves With Food

  • Some say it is because all the good memories from our childhood center on food?
  • Do we use food as a security blanket?
  • Is food in your mind the only thing that has never disappointed or let you down?
  • Do you substitute food for love or people in your life?
  • Are you thinking about food when you are eating food?
  • Do you feel uncomfortable or angry when somebody else eats your food?
  • Does it matter to you what food is doing to your body?

How you answer these questions say a lot about how you look at food and the affects of it on your body. If you do not make an effort to read labels or have the knowledge of how food will change your body, then you need to check your priorities in your life and what quality you are willing to live with or without. The world you live in is a small and dark place because of your relationship with food. Do something to change that. Find the answers to these questions. Then walk into a world filled with light and so many opportunities. Sounds like sermon but these are the fact of life so you continue to have one.

We all have addictions of one thing or another, some will be harmful to other are just dumb. If you are having a hard time doing daily actives because of your health and weight. You need to turn that around before it causes permanent damage to your well being. It is up to you no one else can make these life changing decisions. Remember talking about Marc from Big Medicine this could be your tipping point. Marc is a man that reach a weight of over 700 pounds, maybe if some one would said take a look at yourself early in his weight gain his life might have been total different.

  5. Holding the side of the pool an treading water
  6. Scissor steps (one leg in front the other in back switch legs while stand in place) like stiff leg jogging
  7. All forms of stretching (Waist bends side to side, front to back) (hands on the hip and twist slowly side to side) all of these a great for your core. aka waist.

  9. Using a paddle board to swim around the pool
  10. If you can swim do laps. This is the best overall body workout in the world. Have you every seen a Fat swimmer in the Olympic

I Hate Exercise For Weight Loss

I hate exercise for weight loss because it works. You know, every time I do a workout, I feel better. The side affects of the weight loss is a problem. The feeling of being healthy, my clothes fitting, and yes, I am able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. 8=}I hate when some thing works every time you do it.

Here are things that will change and why I hate Exercise

  • It is fun making sure the chair you are going to sit on will support you.
  • Finding clothes big enough that looks good and that covers your, lets say well rounded body.
  • That feeling of winning a marathon going from the La-Z-Boy to the kitchen and for the ultra marathoner, back to La-Z -Boy.
  • That challenge of tying your shoes without passing out
  • Sitting and watching other people being active and enjoying life
  • Taking all those pills for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, gout, diabetes, taking pain medication for aching knees, legs, back.
Oh how I would miss them. Life would not be same. So listen to me. Some times exercise disguises it self so be careful. Walking a longer distance than the kitchen can be considered exercise. Riding a bike is not fun. It is exercise. Even cleaning the house can be called exercise. Please do yourself a big favor. Do not exercise because it will change you life. You will look in a mirror and not recognize yourself. The clothes you have will hang on you. Little kids will not ask, “do you have a baby in there” and you too ladies.

In conclusion: Do not exercise you will lose weight and your life will change forever.

Fat Loss 4 Idiots - Why Does It Work?

Without a doubt, Fat Loss 4 Idiots has become hugely successful in the world of weight loss plans and is change of pace from any other diet plan on the market, but why does it work?

There are several aspects of Fat Loss 4 Idiots that make it a successful diet program. Because of how it is set up it is a simple plan to follow. There is no counting calories or carbs, no costly foods to have to buy or monthly memberships. With its unique menu generator and 11 day cycles, this weight loss plan makes losing those extra pounds a lot easier than most anything on the market.

With that said though, it will still require some effort on your part to make Fat Loss 4 Idiots, or any other diet plan, work out for you. The good news is that this program is so simple that if you can just be motivated to give it some effort, you will see success.

The menu generator takes 14 of your favorite foods that you tell it you like and produces a complete 11 days menu plan based on that information. It provides for 4 meals per day that if you stick with it, will produce the results you are looking for.

One of the biggest keys I believe this plan has over others is that after an 11 day cycle you have 3 days of being able to eat anything you wish in moderation. So, if you want hamburger, or pizza, you can have it. This gives you something to look forward to every 11 days and helps in staying motivated. After the 3 days you simply start back on an 11 day cycle again.

One of the secrets in maintaining long term weight loss is exercise. Fat Loss 4 Idiots will provide you with a plan and the tools to achieve it, but you should also add some exercise to your life as well.

Exercising does not mean you have to go to the gym and work up a big sweat. No one wants to have to do that and even if you did it probably wouldn't be for long. Instead, exercising can be as simple as a 30 minute brisk walk 3 times a week. Not only will the walk do your body good, but it will also help reduce the stress of day to day life.

Combining Fat Loss 4 Idiots with regular exercise can be a powerful one-two punch. Together I think you will like the results.
